Most computer training schools in Guyana offer foundation level or Microsoft Office Specialist level courses, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. Computer World also offers advanced level courses in Word and Excel while Global Technology offers exam preparation courses for the Microsoft Office Suite expert level exams.
Many secondary schools also teach Microsoft Office courses as part of their Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC/CSEC) EDPM and IT curriculum. The CSEC curricula covers the same topics that comprise the Foundation Level packages offered by Computer World and Global Technology, the two leading computer schools in Guyana.
The cost of a foundation course in Microsoft Word, for example, is about G$ 15 000 or US$ 75. The entire Foundation Package costs ,G$40, 000 at Computer World and $49,000 at Global.
